Rottweiler - Large - Adult - Female - Dog - Pippy
Description
Estimated Date of Birth: 03/2006 Weight: 64 pounds Pippy was adopted previously but urgently needs to find a new home due to severe allergy-type symptoms, requiring hospitalization of her owner, Mindy. Mindy writes: I do not want Pippy in a kennel. I love her so much but two weeks after I got Pippy, I ended up in the hospital for a week. I could not breathe at all. I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, a type of auto immune disease and a rare one at that. It has affected my lungs, vision and possibly my brain. Pippy is a good girl. She enjoys hugs and enjoys taking naps on your lap. She is good with cats as long as they do not touch her toys or treats, and if they do she will jump or snap at them. It needs to be a slow and gentle introduction. She does get jealous if you are giving your attention to the cats but a firm, "Pippy, no!" usually works. We have taught her not to jump for a hug when you walk in the door. She does not like delivery trucks at all. She definitely does not like tiny dogs but has no problem with dogs her size. She is okay with my three and four year old grandchildren, but timid around them. You have to take her toys and bones and put them up when they are around as she will snap at them just walking by one of her things. She does not like a toddler lying next to her, but does not mind being petted by them. Pippy is better off with an older kid that can play fetch and tackle with her with no problems. I personally think Pippy is better off with 12 year old and older people. She is great to walk with, but stubborn if she wants to go and sniff something out. God forbid she see a gopher or deer - she definitely wants to take off and run after them! Pippy likes to sleep with her human and is not a bed hog. She does let you know if someone is around the house at night time. She is a couch potato, meaning she would rather be inside instead of outside. She does not get on the furniture unless you tell her its okay. She is terrified of thunderstorms and will find a place to hide, and does not want to go outside in the rain or when the grass is wet or during fireworks. She is possessive of her toys and bones, but can pick them up if you warn her and talk to her about picking them up. Pippy will follow you around where ever you go. She does have a flea allergy called flea allergy dermatitis. For more information on adopting Pippy, please contact Mindy at 513-735-0180 or via e-mail mystic_wolf1us@yahoo.com.
