Description

This sewing machine is a Singer, Model 15 Sewing Machine that still runs great and includes the original cabinet. The light also works, but the shade on the light is broken off (but is included). This antique machine was produced on March 27, 1950 in Elizabeth, New Jersey at the Elizabethport factory. There is no model number on the machine (model #s weren’t used until in the 1960s), but there is a plate that contains the serial number, and there is also a gold oval emblem that says "The Singer Manufacturing Company" and contains the trademark emblem. The machine is black, and contains a gold leaf design around the outside of the bottom plate of the machine, the words "The Singer Manufacturing Company" across the top of the machine, and the word "Singer" and the leaf design across the front (all are in gold color). The original cabinet allows the machine when not is use to be folded into the cabinet (see picture). In place of the usual foot pedal, this machine uses a leg pedal. The measurements of the cabinet are 29" tall,16" wide, 34" long when closed, and 46" long when the machine is up and the lid is open (see picture). The cabinet also contains 4 drawers for storage with inside measurement of 11" x 3 ½" each. The cabinet has shows some wear and use. The back of the cabinet has some knicks and there is an area where the wood is cracked (see picture). Also included with this item are some additional attachments (see picture) with a cardboard singer attachment box numbered 121897, and a partial book that contains pages 17-52.
